PSI to kPa Converter (psi to kPa)
30 psi is 206.842719 kPa. A kilopascal is a thousand pascals — the metric pressure unit that appears on tyre sidewalls across Canada, Australia and most of the engineering world. One psi is 6.89475729 kPa exactly (to the digits shown).

How this conversion works
Many tyre placards print all three scales — psi, bar and kPa — and gauges in Canada and Australia read kilopascals first. Type either side: 220 kPa is 31.91 psi; a 240 kPa sidewall maximum is 34.81 psi.
kPa is also the unit of weather maps in much of the world (sea-level pressure ≈ 101.325 kPa) and of HVAC and engineering specifications, where bar would need decimals and psi would need a conversion anyway. If you want bar instead, the sister page converts psi to bar directly.
The exact formula
kPa = psi × 6.89475729
The pascal is one newton per square metre; the psi is one pound-force per square inch. Their definitions meet at 6.894757293168361… kPa per psi, of which 6.89475729 is the working figure here. The reverse is psi = kPa ÷ 6.89475729.

Frequently asked questions
How many kPa are in 1 psi?
6.89475729 kPa.
What is 32 psi in kPa?
220.642 kPa — which is why so many placards print 220 kPa next to 32 psi.
Which is bigger, a bar or 100 kPa?
They are exactly the same: 1 bar = 100 kPa by definition. The bar survives because its size is convenient, not because it measures anything different.
