How this conversion works
Tyres are labelled in psi in the US and bar in Europe; espresso machines pull at 9 bar; scuba tanks fill to 200 bar (about 2,900 psi). Type either side and the other answers.
A rough feel for the scales: 1 bar is roughly one atmosphere (1.013 bar), and about 14.5 psi. So bar figures are always much smaller than psi for the same pressure — if your converted answer looks bigger in bar than it was in psi, something has gone wrong.
